1/14 – Bruno
Today we visited Bruno, a company located in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Bruno is a company closely related to the Swedish company Braunability. Bruno specializes in manufacturing products that help give customers the ability to maintain their independent lifestyle. These products include stair lifts, chair lifts, and automotive wheelchair and scooter lifts. We met with Bill Belson, the head of engineering at Bruno, who gave us an overview presentation of the company, as well as a tour of the manufacturing facilities. It was a very interesting presentation, and I really enjoyed learning more about the company.
My favorite part of the presentation was the section that was spent talking about not settling or ever being satisfied. Bill spoke a lot about always improving and adjusting to continue to grow better and more efficient. Over the last 10 years, they lowered their custom installation time from 12 weeks all the way down to 2 weeks. Despite that tremendous reduction in time, Bill still says they are aiming to reduce that time down to one week within the next 2 years. The company refuses to be satisfied, and I believe this is what keeps them as a market leader in many categories. By constantly evolving and adapting to the customers new needs, Bruno stays one step ahead of the competition.
