1/27 -Braunability and Remente
Today we started out by visiting Braunability, formerly known as AutoAdapt. They were extremely nice to us, as they even sent a bus to pick us up from the hostel to take us out to the company, as well as dropped us off at the next company after our visit! Braunability is a company that specializes in designing and manufacturing devices that allow disabled people to live a more independent life. I thought this visit was really cool, especially since my parents own a company back home working with disabled people. We learned a lot about the company, as well as the designs and engineering behind many of their products. They also fed us a delicious meat and cheese filled keesh like meal! Overall I really enjoyed this visit and hope to bring some information of the products back home to my parents business.
After our visit with Braunability, we headed out to visit Remente. We met with the COO and Co-founder, David. He was a very nice guy and a lot of what he had to say related to us as college students. He spoke a lot about stress and mental health challenges. His app, Remente, helps you to improve you life by easing your stress and mental health challenges by helping you to achieve your life goals. Overall it was a very cool and inspirational visit, and I look forward to looking further into the app in the near future.
After Remente, which was our final company visit of this trip, we headed out on our own to find dinner. A group of friends and I chose to go to our favorite, the pasta haus, one more time! I got the seafood pizza AGAIN, and it was just as good as the first time! After dinner, we went by Nordstan to do a little more shopping, as well as stopped by O’learys to say goodbye to our favorite bartender, who gave us a free shot to celebrate our trip and our time in Sweden coming to a close. Finally, when we got back, I spent the rest of the night hanging with my roommate Cam and catching up on these blogs and resting up for the big curling event tomorrow!
3 big takeaways
- Companies like Braunability and Remente really use the customer first approach to make their companies successful. By doing what is right for the customer, they in turn are doing what is right for their company.
- Seafood on pizza… I don’t know how many times I have to say it but it NEEDS to happen in the United States.
- You would need weeks of even a month of free time just to explore all the shops that Gothenburg has to offer. It is a beautiful city with what seems like hundreds of shops.
