1/19 – Exploring the Island!

Today contained what was definitely my favorite activity we have done so far when we explored the Island of Brännö! To get there, we had to take 2 trams, a bus, and a ferry, but it was definitely worth the effort to get there. Once we got to the island, we walked to the opposite side of the island because there are almost no cars allowed on the island. When we got there, we had a picnic on the rocks of the ocean.

After the picnic, we were free to explore the islands on our own, so me, Cam, and Alex went to explore a rough and rugged nature trail! We got a ton of great views and pictures high on the rocks.

Also on the car less island, they have a radar gun telling you to slow down if you are going too fast on your bike… which I took as a personal challenge to legally be speeding by sprinting! There were videos taken, but at this point in time I can not figure out how to post them here! Hopefully a classmate can show me how to do that soon.

After a long day of hiking/parkour/rock climbing, we headed back to the mainland for a dinner at a local bar called Karlsons Garage. I had a delicious steak and fries!

3 Big Takeaways

  1. Learn the public transportation system, because it can take you a lot of places in a short amount of time when used correctly
  2. Take the road less traveled. The best decision I made today was going on the unknown hike with Cam and Alex where we experienced some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen in my whole life.
  3. Stop and take the time to really soak in the moments that can stay with you forever. People are always in a rush it seems, and sometimes taking a step back to enjoy the moment with friends is what will stay with you forever.
